Jukebox Friday: Special Wednesday Edition.

The Desuko crew is getting ready to take off for a little spring break, so let's wind up this short week with an extra-bountiful jukebox post. No theme this week, just groovy tunes.

Redd Kross, "Jimmy's Fantasy":

Bat For Lashes, "What's a Girl to Do":

Foetus, "Theme from Pigdom Come" followed by a short interview and a live performance of "Descent Into the Inferno", all from 1985:

Mudhoney performing "Hate the Police" live in Prague in 2006:

Don Ho's cover of Peter Gabriel's "Shock the Monkey":

And finally, Hall and Oates' early hit "She's Gone," in all it's bargain basement, public access TV station glory:

Bollywood Monday: All Hail Ganesh.

I don't have any background at all on this film, except that it's called "Annai Oru Aalayam" and is from 1979. But this is too good not to share. There's some light buddy comedy, some insanely wacky animal hijinks, and this being Bollywood and all, even a catchy song.

The first part establishes the concept:

And part two just brings it on home with a vengeance:

Some Words From Our Sponsors.

Here's another collection of weird and wonderful television commercials.

First, proving Gene Simmons will do anything for a tawdry buck, it's the KISS toothbrush! Rock on!

Joey Heatherton can sell me a mattress any day:

Not even the communists could resist the siren call of capitalism. This is a beauty products commercial from the old Soviet Union:

This is even cooler than the KISS toothbrush. I want one!

And saving the best for last, it's... POLE POSITION!!!!
