Bollywood Monday: Movie Trailer Week Begins.

I've been in a theme week mood lately, so let's kick off another. This week it'll be movie trailers. I post a lot of them with my reviews over at the Desuko Movie Spot, but over here I wanted to focus specifically on movies that are so impossible to find that I haven't seen them yet, but totally want to.

This is a vintage Ramsey Brothers horror flick from Bollywood called "Purana Mandir," released in 1984:

Jukebox Friday: New Music Week Edition.

Okay, so doing a Jukebox Friday in a week that already feature nothing but music seems redundant. That's why this one will just be a collection of other fine new videos that I didn't get to earlier in the week.

The editing on this one drives me crazy, but the tune is rockin'. Here's some poppy girlpunk from Hunter Valentine called "Break This":


I like the video more than the song, but I have to admit that the song's grown on me. It's "I'm Good, I'm Gone" by Lykke Li:

Finally, here's a brilliant mindfuck of a video. It's "Carmencita" by Devendra Banhart. The lyrics are in Spanish, the concept is pure mistranslated old school Bollywood -- and there are even a couple of surprise guest stars. That's truly all you need:

New Music Week: Solange.

Meet Solange. She may be Beyonce's little sister, but she's got a sound all her own that, for my money, is far better. Check out the retro soul vibes of "Sandcastle Disco":

New Music Week: The Virgins.

Here's "Rich Girls," the new single from the Virgins. If you close your eyes, it's almost like it's the '80s all over again. However, the video's pretty cool, so you should probably keep your eyes open.

Bollywood Monday: New Music Week Begins.

This week, I want to feature some new tunes I've been digging. We'll get to the usual pop/rock fare starting tomorrow, but since this is Bollywood Monday, we're going to kick off the week with something new from India. From the forthcoming movie "Dostana," this is Shilpa Shetty doing the short-but-sweet "Shut Up and Bounce":

Election Throw Down.

DesukoTube will be taking a short mental health break this week. Look for some more exciting videos next Monday or so. In the meanwhile, it's election time, so those of you here in the U.S. need to get out and make your voice heard. (And also go to the polls and vote, too.) If you're one of the millions of Americans who is still undecided (what's taking you so damn long?), here's a debate between Obama and McCain in a fresh new, freestyle format that we can all get behind. Work it!
