Bollywood Monday: Updates!

Thanks to efforts of Beth, one of the gracious hostesses at Bollywood Fugly, we know have some movie and song IDs for previous Bollywood Monday features! (Shut up. You know you're excited about this!)

First off, this fine piece of work is the song "Paas Voh Aane Lage" from "Main Khiladi Tu Anari," sung by Saif Ali Khan and Raageshwari.

Then we have our glancing dancers, which is the song "Godanva" by Poornima and Arun Bakshi, from the film "Mudda: The Issue."

Finally, we have the Beatle-esque clip that started our Bollywood Mondays. Turns out it's Shammi Kapoor from the movie "Janwar."

Thanks, Beth!

Bollywood Monday: Asha Bhosle & Zeenat Aman.

This number is awesome on so many levels -- the music, the fashions, the girls with guitars, that one guy's headpiece, the sheer '70s-osity of it all. This is Bollywood at its best.

The song is "Kisne Dekha Hai Kal" from the film "Heeralaal Pannalaal," performed by Asha Bhosle and Zeenat Aman, with music by the incredibly prolific R.D. Burman:

Jukebox Friday: Dschinghis Khan.

It's official. Germany has won the Disco Wars. Sure, the Village People were awesome and all, but they got blown away by the German sextet Dschinghis Khan and we never even knew it at the time. Hustle on my wayward son!

Sedated Nation.

Ever wonder why every thing seemed so safe and happy and calming back in Eisenhower's America? It was the drugs. Nothing can ensure domesticated suburban bliss like popping down to the corner drugstore to pick up some non-prescription downers. Nowadays everyone's hopped up on Red Bulls and Viagra, and just look at where it's gotten us.

Prepare for Your Brain to Explode from the Awesomeness.

What's cooler than cheap and cheesy movies? When they're cheap and cheesy foreign movies, of course. And what's even cooler than cheap and cheesy foreign movies? When it's an ultra-low budget knock-off of "Star Trek"!

Here's a complete episode of "Turist Ă–mer Uzay" (which I think literally translates as "Tourists in Space"), the Turkish version of "Star Trek." This is part 1; you can open the YouTube page and use the sidebar links to view the other parts.

Bollywood Monday: Mystery Edition.

I hate to admit that I don't know (and can't seem to find out) what song this is or what movie it comes from. Any ideas?
